Non-discrimination Policy
While the Dhrupad Music Institute of America (DMIA) does not have any paid employees, but relies entirely upon volunteer Officers and Board Members, it does provide equal opportunities to all volunteers, performers, vendors, program participants, and audiences without regard to race, color, religious creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, pregnancy, childbirth, physical disability, mental disability, age, military status or status as a Vietnam-era or special disabled veteran, marital status, registered domestic partner or civil union status, gender (including sex stereotyping and gender identity or expression), medical condition (including, but not limited to, cancer related or HIV/AIDS related), genetic information or sexual orientation in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
In addition, DMIA complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination as noted above in every location in which DMIA has activities. Should DMIA ever hire paid employees in the future, the DMIA policy as stated above would apply to all terms and conditions of employment, including, but not limited to, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
